The City of Midlothian has started a communitywide research initiative to identify the city’s authentic strengths, unique qualities, and shared values that make up Midlothian’s distinct personality and culture. To uncover public perceptions and attitudes, research will include focus groups, stakeholder interviews, and community surveys. The research findings will form the mold that will be used to cast a strong, cohesive identity that is easily understood, recognized, and associated with city services, facilities, programs, and events. Our goal is to increase awareness of benefits of city services and programs. Additionally, we want to increase interest, engagement, and investment in our community from residents, businesses, employees, entrepreneurs, and visitors. Citizens are encouraged to help Midlothian claim a distinct identity in its own right as we move toward our preferred future. Soon we will invite citizens to participate in the communitywide survey.
