Movies in the Park - "Sing 2" is next up on Saturday, July 16 at Hawkins Spring Park, 1498 FM 1387. Methodist Midlothian Medical Center is presenting sponsor for these events. Movies begin at dark, but prize drawings begin at 7 p.m. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on the grass. In case of rain, movies are rescheduled. The Midlothian Market - Organized by Midlothian Downtown Business Association, the outdoor market is open Saturdays through November 26 (some Saturdays excluded) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Heritage Park, 234 N. 8th Street. Find more information about The Midlothian Market.
A.H. Meadows Library’s Summer Reading Program for ages pre-K through 5th grade runs through July 28. This year’s theme is Oceans of Possibilities. Children may earn a prize for every five books they read or have read to them. Reading logs may be picked up at the Library, 923 S. 9th Street. Library hours throughout the summer are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed Friday and Sunday. Strike, Scrape & Shake Show, featuring Mark Shelton, percussionist, will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 10 a.m. Free program is geared for children of all ages. No reservations needed.
Learn to Sketch from Disney Illustrator Judie Clarke is set for Wednesday, July 19, 10 a.m. This program is geared towards children in 2nd through 5th grades. Registration is required and class size is limited.
PARKTOPIA, Friday, July 22, 5 to 9 p.m. at Midlothian Community Park, 3601 S. 14th Street. Bring the family and enjoy an array of outdoor family fun and games, including Giant Jenga®, Frisbee®, Hula Hoop® , kite-flying, football, soccer, cornhole, four square and more!
