The Midlothian Downtown Business Association sponsors an annual Scarecrow Festival each fall in October/November. Scarecrows are displayed in Heritage Park with prizes issued for the following:
- Best business
- Best Individual/non-profit/organization
- Best youth/school group
- Peoples choice
