Defendants may pay in-person, by mail or online payments for some violations (excludes Juvenile cases, certain violations that include alcohol and tobacco, and assault cases involving family violence). If paying in person, please note that the office occasionally closes during the lunch hour. Payment methods accepted are:
Notice of Alternatives to Full Payment of Fine and/or Cost: The Judgment and sentence for the offense you are charged is the payment of a fine and/or cost. If you are ordered to pay a fine and/or cost, and you cannot pay, notify the court immediately. If you are determined by the court to have insufficient resources or income to pay, the court is required to provide you other ways to discharge the fine and/or cost.
Online services CANNOT be used for the following situations:
- You cannot pay dismissal fees
- You cannot pay for violations issued to Juveniles
- You cannot pay for the Driver Safety Course option
Please be aware that paying for your citation/ticket online counts as a plea of no contest.
Paying a traffic fine will result in a conviction being entered on your record.
A small processing fee may be applied when making a payment online.
Payments made online after 3:00 p.m. will be processed the next business day.
Warrant(s): Payment for warrant(s) made AFTER 3:00 p.m., will be processed the next business day and you are at risk of arrest until your payment is processed.
If you are unable to pay via the online services, you MUST either mail your payment OR pay in-person. Payment by mail must be made by money order/cashier check and payable to the City of Midlothian (NO CASH or PERSONAL CHECKS). If paying in-person the court also accepts cash, Visa or Mastercard with the proper ID. phone payments are NOT allowed.
