The City of Midlothian's Water Treatment Plant has received 9 Texas Optimization Program Recognition Awards from The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
The Texas Optimization Award is an award for outstanding water treatment.
Minimum State requirement for water cleanliness is 0.30 NTU (NTU is a measure of how clean the water is).
To achieve the optimization award a water treatment plant must maintain a 0.10 NTU or less 95% of the time during a six month time frame.
