In June of 2005, Mayor Boyce Whatley announced City plans to distribute a comprehensive set of environmental reports to more fully inform area citizens about public safety issues in Midlothian.

The environmental issue had come to considerable attention in Midlothian following activist Erin Brockovich's announced plans to hold a meeting to gauge public concerns about environmental safety.

Mayor Whatley noted that Midlothian is one of the most monitored areas in the State of Texas and the results from dozens of comprehensive health studies and emissions reports conducted by state and federal regulatory agencies confirm this.

"All epidemiological studies, relating to Midlothian, that we are aware of, indicate results that are within or below the normal levels," said Mayor Whatley.
