Midlothian "Pink Out" Day  -  October 27, 2009

As part of the “Cares Enough to Wear Pink” campaign, which was adopted by the Texas State Association of Fire Fighters, the Midlothian Fire Fighters Association is wearing and selling pink T-shirts to benefit cancer-related charities.  Fifty percent of the proceeds from the sales will go directly to the Susan G. Komen Foundation with the rest going toward similar projects the Association undertakes throughout the year.  Please enjoy the pictures taken during the "Pink Out" Day.

The Dedication Ceremony began at 10:00 am on a rainy Friday morning with the Gordon Family present for the occasion.  The Midlothian Police and Fire Departments were well represented  along with their counterparts from the City's of Mansfield, Cedar Hill and Desoto.  A special thank you to Pastor Blain Craig of Oak Crest Baptist Church (Invocation), Mayor Boyce Whatley (Dedication Speech), Andy Biery (National Anthem soloist), Bill Thompson (Taps), the Desoto Rifle Team (21 Gun Salute) and the Desoto Honor Guard (Lowering of the Flags) for their participation in the ceremony.  The rain stopped falling moments before the program began and everything flowed beautifully.  Mary Gordon spoke lovingly about her son and unveiled the brass plaque placed by the oak tree planted in Lyle's honor.
