Ellis County — The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will be implementing a traffic switch on FM 1387 from just west of Midlothian Parkway to approximately 300 feet to the west as shoulder construction begins. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction and will be controlled with temporary traffic signals for 24 hours a day beginning Monday, November 5 until the end of the five month project.
The traffic switch will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday and will be completed by end of the business day weather permitting. Following the switch, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction and controlled by temporary traffic signals 24 hours a day until the end of the project.
The shoulder construction project is expected to last for approximately five months. Motorists are urged to be mindful of workers in the construction zone. Backups are possible and motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
